Bonds, Coffee, Gel Pens

Why do people bond if they know they’ll have to part?

Similarly, are all humans a bit… masochistic? Because we know it’ll happen sooner or later, and yet we still do it, whether we want to or not. Do we want to get that bit of suffering, is that what makes it worth something? Are we all just dumb and don’t think that long-term? Hm. That’s a thought.

Coffee. Overrated? Underrated? I don’t know, I’ve tried it twice and both times I wasn’t able to finish it, even with several (I mean seeeveral) packs of sugar. Coffee just wasn’t made for me. I don’t hate the taste and I don’t dislike the concept, but, so far, I don’t see the charm either. Overpriced brown liquid. I guess people have the same connection with coffee as I do with the wind. It gives them energy, makes them feel more alive, and is ever-present in their daily lives. Of course the wind isn’t present in my life by choice — it’s a very windy place, this one I live in — but it’s a cute part of life, totally makes one feel like the main character. My dad would not agree with any of my compliments to the wind, but, then again, my dad has coffee already.

Oh, and coffee comes from beans! We love beans in this household.

Also, has anyone ever successfully used a gel pen that doesn’t smudge? This is a genuine question of mine, I care about these things. To me, gel pens always feel like they’re mocking my nature. “Oh, you wanted to write this all cute? Let me just slightly ruin your plans for you just so you have to start over?”

You guys. Gel pens are a lot like what I’d imagine the Supreme Guardians of The Universe would be. Let’s skip the part where I explain why that’s a thing and I’ll just present my argument: they let you think you’re in control of what you’re doing and then go ahead and spoil your plans. Not entirely, juuust a little bit, a minor inconvenience, enough times until it becomes quite frustrating. And after that’s done I suppose they just laugh for a second and go do that to someone else.

I do not like gel pens very much. I haven’t found a good one yet.

That being said, these have been my 1 a.m. thoughts, be sure to check out Loki on Disney +, for no particular reason other than I just remembered that’s a thing that exists. Thank you and I’ll see you next week :))
